The 7 Days brand is a global leader in the packaged baked snacks category, specifically famous for its individually wrapped, long-shelf-life croissants. The brand was originally launched in 1991 by the Greek food company Chipita S.A., which was founded in 1973. It quickly grew from a local success in Greece to a dominant brand across Central and Eastern Europe.
In early 2022, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when Mondelēz International, an American multinational confectionery and snack food giant, completed the acquisition of Chipita S.A. for approximately $2 billion. This acquisition integrated 7 Days into a global portfolio alongside iconic brands like Oreo and Cadbury.
Today, 7 Days products are manufactured in numerous plants across several countries, including Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, and Turkey, as well as through joint ventures in regions like Saudi Arabia, India, and Malaysia. The specific product shown, the Max croissant with spumante-flavored filling, is a popular variant often produced in the company's Eastern European facilities to serve international markets.
