Scott's Porage Oats is one of Scotland's most iconic food brands, with a history dating back to 1880. Originally founded by the Scott brothers, the brand became famous for its distinctive milling process where the oats are rolled thicker and gently kilned to produce a unique texture and flavor often referred to as the 'true taste of Scotland'. The brand's imagery, featuring a traditional shot-putter, has made it a recognizable staple of British breakfast tables for generations.

Over the years, the brand underwent various corporate changes, eventually becoming part of A & R Scott Ltd. In 1982, the business was acquired by Quaker Oats, which was itself a subsidiary of the American multinational PepsiCo. Despite these changes in global ownership, Scott's has maintained its strong Scottish identity, with production traditionally centered at the Cupar mill in Fife. Today, it remains a flagship product within the Quaker Oats portfolio, benefiting from PepsiCo's extensive global distribution network while continuing to emphasize its heritage and traditional milling methods.
