Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce is an iconic condiment that serves as a global benchmark for authentic Cantonese flavors. The brand's history dates back to 1888 when its founder, Lee Kum Sheung, accidentally invented oyster sauce in Nanshui, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China, after leaving a pot of oyster soup simmering for too long. This fortunate culinary accident led to the birth of a global empire.
Today, the brand remains under the stewardship of the Lee family, maintaining its heritage while operating as a multinational corporation. While the original manufacturing began in Southern China, the company has expanded its production footprint significantly. Their modern manufacturing facilities are located in Xinhui and Huangpu in China, as well as Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Los Angeles, USA, to serve various international markets including the Spanish and wider European sectors.
