This innovation led to the founding of M. Bentz in 1908, which eventually became the Melitta Group.

Today, the brand remains a family-owned business headquartered in Minden, Germany. While the company has a global manufacturing presence—with major filter production facilities in Clearwater, Florida for North America and Brazil for South America—the 'Original' filters sold in European markets (like the 1x4 size shown) are primarily manufactured at their production sites in Germany.
