Michel is a premier Swiss beverage brand with a rich history dating back to April 8, 1929, when it was founded by Louis-Edmond Michel in Chavannes-près-Renens. The brand's journey began after Michel returned to Switzerland with expertise in fruit concentrates gained while working in Madagascar. Its first major commercial success was a tomato cocktail made from sun-ripened Valais tomatoes, which established the brand's reputation for high-quality fruit-based drinks.

Today, Michel is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and fair trade, notably through its long-standing partnership with Fairtrade Max Havelaar. The Orange Premium juice is a staple of their line, produced from 100% fair-trade oranges. While the raw ingredients like oranges are sourced globally from regions such as Brazil and Latin America to ensure peak quality, the final processing, blending, and bottling take place in Switzerland.

Since 1983, the brand has been under the ownership of Rivella AG, another iconic Swiss beverage company. Following the acquisition, production was moved to Rivella's central facilities in Rothrist. Michel continues to operate as a premium brand within Rivella's portfolio, maintaining its distinct Swiss heritage and reputation for natural, high-quality fruit enjoyment.
