Cerveza Victoria was founded in Málaga, Spain, on July 14, 1928, by Luis Franquelo Carrasco. Its slogan, 'Malagueña y Exquisita' (From Málaga and Exquisite), has become an iconic part of the city's identity. The brand is famous for its 'Aleman' (The German) character on the label, depicting a typical tourist in Málaga during the 1960s.
Historically, the brand was part of the Grupo Cruzcampo, which was later acquired by Guinness (Diageo) and eventually Heineken. However, due to antitrust regulations during Heineken's takeover of Cruzcampo, several brands including Victoria were divested. Today, it is part of the Damm group portfolio. Since 2017, the beer has been brewed at a modern facility in Málaga, returning its primary manufacturing to its original city.
