Itambé is a prominent Brazilian dairy brand founded in 1948 in the state of Minas Gerais. Originally established as a cooperative of dairy producers (Central Cooperativa dos Produtores de Leite de Minas Gerais - CCPR), it has become one of the most recognized dairy names in South America. The brand is particularly known for its extensive range of milk, yogurts, and butter products.
In 2017, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when the French dairy giant Groupe Lactalis acquired Itambé from CCPR. This acquisition integrated Itambé into the largest dairy product company in the world. Today, Itambé operates multiple production facilities across Brazil, primarily in the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás, maintaining its heritage while benefiting from the global infrastructure of its parent company.
