Chang Classic is a world-renowned Thai lager beer, originally launched in 1995 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's reign. The name 'Chang' translates to 'elephant,' an animal of profound cultural and historical significance in Thai heritage, which is prominently featured in the brand's logo with two white elephants facing each other.
Since its inception, Chang has been brewed primarily in Thailand at the Cosmopolitan Brewery and other facilities owned by the Thai Beverage group. It was originally created through a joint venture between Carlsberg and the TCC Group, though it later became a fully Thai-owned entity. The beer is known for using high-quality local ingredients, including deep-well water and premium yeast, to create its signature full-bodied taste.
Today, the brand is owned by Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev), the largest beverage company in Southeast Asia. Based in Bangkok, ThaiBev oversees a massive portfolio spanning spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Chang remains the flagship beer brand of the group and is exported to over 40 countries, cementing its status as an iconic symbol of Thai hospitality and brewing tradition.
