HONOR is a well-known consumer electronics brand originally established in 2013 as a sub-brand of the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei. It was created to focus on digital-first strategies and younger consumers, producing smartphones, tablets, and wearable technology.
In November 2020, to ensure its survival amidst international supply chain restrictions faced by its parent company, Huawei sold HONOR to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. This consortium is composed of several agents and dealers of the brand and is backed by the Shenzhen state government. Today, HONOR operates as an independent entity, maintaining its primary manufacturing and research facilities in China while expanding its global presence in markets like Europe and Latin America.
