Harry’s was founded in 2013 by Jeff Raider and Andy Katz-Mayfield with a mission to disrupt the shaving industry by providing high-quality razors at a more accessible price point. Unlike many direct-to-consumer startups that outsource production, Harry's took the significant step of vertically integrating its supply chain early on. In 2014, the company purchased the Feintechnik factory in Eisfeld, Germany, a facility with a heritage of blade-making excellence dating back to 1920.

Today, the brand's signature blades are engineered and manufactured in this German facility using high-grade Swedish steel. While the blades remain centered in Germany, other components of their product line, such as handles, skin care products, and body washes, are produced in various locations globally to meet international demand.

Harry's, Inc. remains the ultimate owner of the brand. Although it famously attempted to merge with Edgewell Personal Care in a deal that was blocked by the FTC in 2020, the company has continued to grow independently. It now operates as a multi-brand platform, having expanded its portfolio to include other brands like Lume and Flamingo, maintaining its headquarters in New York City.
