Arriva is one of the leading passenger transport providers in Europe, operating a wide range of services including buses, trains, and waterbuses. Originally established as a motorbike dealer in Sunderland, England, the company transitioned into passenger transport and expanded rapidly across the European continent.

The brand has undergone significant ownership changes over the decades. After being acquired by the German state-owned railway giant Deutsche Bahn in 2010, it became the international face of the group's transport operations outside of Germany. However, following a strategic shift by Deutsche Bahn to refocus on its domestic market, Arriva was sold to I Squared Capital in early 2024. Today, Arriva continues to operate under this private equity ownership, maintaining a strong presence in countries like the UK, the Netherlands, and various Central European regions.
