Originally developed by Thomas Dakin at the Warrington distillery, the brand gained international fame under the name Bombay Sapphire in the late 20th century. Today, the core manufacturing takes place at the Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England, a sustainable distillery that handles the unique vapor-infusion process.

The brand was acquired by Bacardi in 1998 from Diageo. Bacardi Limited, the ultimate owner, is a family-owned spirits company headquartered in Bermuda. It remains one of the most recognizable gin brands globally, characterized by its complex botanical profile and distinctive branding featuring Queen Victoria.
