CADÍ butter is a prestigious dairy product from the Pyrenees, specifically the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions in Spain. It is one of the few butters in Europe to hold the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, ensuring it is produced following traditional methods using milk from local Frisian cows.
The brand is owned by CADÍ Societat Cooperativa Catalana Limitada, a cooperative founded in 1915 by Josep Zulueta. This cooperative was a pioneer in Spain's dairy industry and remains a self-governed entity owned by its member farmers in the La Seu d’Urgell area. The manufacturing process consistently takes place in their historic facilities in Sant Ermengol, maintaining a close link between the land and the final product.
