The brand’s origins date back to 1683 in Kirchanschöring, Bavaria, where Petrus Meindl became the first shoemaker in the family. Since then, the company has remained a family-owned business, representing centuries of traditional bootmaking expertise.

Today, Meindl is globally recognized for its high-quality leather boots, incorporating modern technologies like GORE-TEX and Vibram soles. While the headquarters and primary master-workshop remain in Germany, high demand led to the establishment of production facilities across other European countries to maintain their standards of craftsmanship. The brand remains under the leadership of the Meindl family, specifically ninth-generation owners Lars and Lukas Meindl.
