Chocolat Frey is a prestigious Swiss chocolate brand with a history dating back to 1887. Founded by the Frey brothers, Robert and Max, in Buchs, Switzerland, the brand has become synonymous with authentic Swiss chocolate production. Unlike many other global chocolate brands that have shifted production to various international locations, Frey maintains its commitment to quality by producing its products primarily at its headquarters in Buchs, using high-quality ingredients and traditional Swiss methods.
In 1950, Chocolat Frey was acquired by Migros, Switzerland's largest retail company and one of the largest employers in the country. This acquisition allowed the brand to scale significantly, eventually becoming Switzerland's top-selling chocolate brand. Today, it operates as a key part of the Migros Group's industrial division, M-Industrie (now Delica AG). Despite being part of a larger conglomerate, the brand continues to focus on its Swiss heritage and high standards of manufacturing, exporting its products to numerous countries around the globe while remaining firmly rooted in Swiss ownership and production.
