Larsa is a deeply rooted Galician dairy brand, famous for being the first to market a yogurt in Spain in 1947. This specific product is a plain yogurt made with milk from cows that graze freely in the pastures of Galicia, certified by the 'Galicia Calidade' seal. Manufacturing takes place at Larsa's facilities in Vilagarcía de Arousa or Outeiro de Rei, ensuring the use of local Galician raw materials.
The brand's history began in 1933 when the Rodríguez López brothers founded a small creamery in Vigo. Over decades, it became a symbol of regional identity in Galicia. In 1997, after some financial transitions, Larsa became part of CAPSA Food (Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta S.A.). CAPSA is a major Spanish dairy conglomerate primarily owned by the Asturian cooperative Central Lechera Asturiana, maintaining the brand's commitment to local production and cooperative farming values.
