Pret A Manger, commonly known as Pret, is a global sandwich and coffee shop chain. Founded in London in 1986 by college friends Julian Metcalfe and Sinclair Beecham, the brand revolutionized the 'grab-and-go' sector by focusing on fresh, natural ingredients prepared daily on-site. The brand has since expanded significantly across Europe, North America, and Asia.

The products themselves are prepared locally in each shop using ingredients sourced from various regional and international suppliers. Today, Pret is primarily owned by JAB Holding Company, a German investment conglomerate that also owns major brands like Peet’s Coffee and Keurig Dr Pepper. The transition to JAB in 2018 marked a new era of global expansion for the British-born brand, moving it from private equity ownership into a massive consumer goods portfolio managed from Luxembourg.
