Goody's was established in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1975. It was founded by Ioannis Dionisiadis and Nikos Pappas, aiming to provide a high-quality fast-food experience tailored to Greek tastes. It quickly became the dominant fast-food chain in Greece, successfully competing with international giants like McDonald's and Burger King by focusing on local dietary preferences.
Over the decades, the brand evolved from a traditional burger joint into 'Goody's Burger House,' a more modern dining concept. In the late 1990s and 2000s, the brand transitioned through various corporate structures. Today, Goody's is a flagship brand of the Vivartia Group, which is the largest food conglomerate in Greece.
Through the Vivartia Group, Goody's is now under the ultimate ownership of CVC Capital Partners, a global private equity firm. While the brand is quintessentially Greek in its origin and manufacturing of ingredients, its management falls under this international investment structure. It remains one of the most successful homegrown franchises in the Balkans and Southeast Europe.
