Flora ProActiv spread

Flora ProActiv is a well-known brand of margarine and plant-based spreads designed to help lower cholesterol. The brand has its roots in the health-focused margarine innovations of the late 20th century, specifically targeting heart health with added plant sterols.

Originally a brand under the consumer goods giant Unilever, the entire spreads division was divested in 2018. The brand is now manufactured and marketed by Upfield, the world's largest plant-based consumer goods company. In Australia, the product is manufactured locally, often using a significant percentage of Australian-sourced ingredients, as indicated by the 'Made in Australia' mark on the packaging.

Today, the brand belongs to the portfolio of Upfield, which is headquartered in the Netherlands and owned by the private equity firm KKR. The Australian operations are managed via Upfield Foods Pty Ltd, based in Sydney.
