The Pink Stuff is a historic British cleaning brand with origins dating back to the 1930s, when it was originally known as Chemico Household Cleanser. For decades, it remained a niche product manufactured in Birmingham, England, by the County Chemical Company. The brand gained its iconic nickname due to its distinctive pink paste and rose-scented formula, eventually leading to its official rebranding as "The Pink Stuff."
In 2012, the brand was acquired by Star Brands Group, based in Leeds, UK. Under Star Brands, the product lineup expanded significantly beyond the original paste to include sprays, detergents, and specialized cleaners like this Window & Glass Cleaner with Rose Vinegar. The brand achieved massive global popularity in the early 2020s, driven by viral trends on social media platforms like TikTok, where it became a staple of the "CleanTok" community.
In April 2025, Star Brands Group was acquired by the American multinational company RPM International Inc. As of 2026, The Pink Stuff operates as part of RPM's Consumer Group, specifically integrated with the Rust-Oleum business unit to further its international distribution and growth.
