Zewa is a prominent household hygiene brand originally established in Mannheim, Germany. The name is an acronym for Zellstofffabrik Waldhof, the company that first produced these paper products in the early 20th century. Over the decades, Zewa became a market leader in Central Europe, known particularly for its kitchen towels and toilet paper.
Today, the brand is owned by Essity, a global hygiene and health company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Essity was formerly part of SCA (Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget) before being spun off as an independent entity in 2017. While the brand maintains its strong German heritage and is still a household staple in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), its products are manufactured across various European sites to ensure efficient supply chains.
