Wellaflex is a well-known hair styling range under the Wella brand, a name synonymous with professional hair care for over a century. The brand's journey began in 1880 in Germany, founded by Franz Ströher, initially focusing on wig bases and later evolving into a global powerhouse for hair dye, styling, and care products.
Throughout its history, Wella has undergone several corporate transitions. It was owned by Procter & Gamble for a significant period before being sold to Coty Inc. in 2016. In 2020, KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.) acquired a majority stake in the Wella business, which includes brands like Wella Professionals, OPI, and ghd. Today, the Wella Company operates as a standalone entity with KKR as its primary ultimate owner, maintaining its headquarters in Switzerland while its global corporate presence remains strong in major markets. Manufacturing is distributed across multiple global facilities, including sites in Germany and other European countries, to supply diverse international markets.
