Bärenmarke is one of Germany’s most iconic and traditional dairy brands, best known for its coffee milk and condensed milk products. Its origins date back to 1892, originally founded as the Alpina cheese factory in the Allgäu region. For many decades, the brand was synonymous with the Nestlé group, which helped establish the famous 'bear' mascot as a symbol of quality and Alpine purity across Central Europe.
In 2003, Nestlé sold the brand to the Hochwald dairy cooperative. Today, Bärenmarke products are primarily manufactured in Germany, specifically at Hochwald’s production facilities in Thalfang and other regional sites. The brand remains a market leader in the coffee milk segment in Germany, maintaining its heritage while under the ownership of one of the country's largest dairy cooperatives.
