The Body Shop is an iconic British beauty brand founded by Dame Anita Roddick in 1976. Known for its ethical stance on animal testing and environmental sustainability, the brand has undergone several changes in ownership over the decades. Originally a family-owned business, it was sold to L'Oréal in 2006 and subsequently to the Brazilian company Natura &Co in 2017.

In late 2023, Natura sold the brand to the private equity group Aurelius. However, following financial difficulties, the brand entered a new chapter in September 2024 when it was acquired by the Auréa Group, a consortium led by retail tycoon Mike Jatania. As of 2026, the brand continues to operate under Auréa Group's management, focusing on its heritage of sustainable and cruelty-free personal care. While headquartered in the UK, manufacturing for many of its core lines, such as body butters and moisturisers, takes place in Poland through partnerships with advanced production facilities like those operated by Avon Operations Polska.
