Rügenwalder Mühle is one of Germany's most prominent traditional sausage and meat alternative brands. Originally founded in Pomerania (Rügenwalde, now Darłowo, Poland) in 1834, the family-run business relocated to Bad Zwischenahn, Lower Saxony, after World War II, where its headquarters and main production facilities remain today.

The brand is widely recognized for its iconic red mill logo. While it built its legacy on traditional pork products like this Leberwurst (liver sausage), the company became a pioneer in the German market by pivoting heavily toward plant-based meat alternatives starting in 2014. In 2024, a significant ownership shift occurred when the Pfeifer & Langen Industrie- und Handels-KG acquired a majority stake in the company. This move integrated the traditional brand into a larger food industrial group that also owns brands like Intersnack (Funny-Frisch).
