Kaba is an iconic German brand of instant cocoa and fruit-flavored milk powders, famously known as "Der Plantagentrank" (The Plantation Drink). It was originally developed in 1929 by Ludwig Roselius, the founder of Kaffee HAG in Bremen, Germany. The name 'Kaba' is a portmanteau of the German words for cocoa and banana (Kakao und Bananenpulver), reflecting its early flavor innovations.

Throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the brand was part of the Kraft Foods and later Mondelez International portfolios. In 2017, it was acquired by the French company Carambar & Co. However, in a significant move in early 2024, the brand was acquired by the German Krüger Group. This acquisition brought the brand back into German ownership, with production integrated into the Krüger Group's specialized facilities in Germany.

Today, Kaba remains a staple of German breakfast culture, offered in its original cocoa variety as well as various fruit flavors like strawberry, banana, and vanilla. Under its current owner, the Krüger Group, the brand continues to be manufactured primarily in Germany, ensuring its long-standing tradition as a beloved childhood favorite for generations of German consumers.
