Zvezda is Russia's largest and most prominent manufacturer of plastic model kits and board games. Founded in the early 1990s as the Soviet Union collapsed, the company successfully transitioned from a nascent startup to a global leader in the hobby industry. They are particularly renowned for their historically accurate military miniatures and vehicle kits, spanning various eras from ancient history to modern-day Russian defense equipment.

The production occurs entirely within Russia, primarily at their headquarters and factory located in Lobnya, Moscow Region. Unlike many global toy brands that outsource manufacturing to East Asia, Zvezda maintains a domestic supply chain for their plastic injection molding and design processes. This local manufacturing focus has allowed the brand to maintain high levels of detail while remaining competitive in international markets.

From an ownership perspective, Zvezda remains an independent Russian entity. It was founded by Konstantin Krivenko, and the company has largely resisted acquisition by larger multinational toy conglomerates. This independence has allowed Zvezda to specialize in niche historical and licensed intellectual properties, such as Disney and Star Wars kits for the domestic market, while exporting their original military series to hobbyists worldwide.
