North American Rescue (NAR) is a premier provider of survivability solutions designed for military, law enforcement, and emergency medical services. Founded in the late 1990s, the brand established itself as a leader in tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) by developing innovative products such as the Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) and specialized trauma kits. Its products are widely recognized for their durability and life-saving efficacy in high-threat environments.
Originally an independent company based in South Carolina, North American Rescue's mission focused on reducing preventable deaths on the battlefield. Over the years, the brand has expanded its reach into the civilian first responder market, providing advanced training and equipment to federal agencies and local EMS departments across the globe.
In 2019, North American Rescue was acquired by Henry Schein, Inc., a global leader in healthcare solutions. This acquisition combined NAR's tactical expertise with Henry Schein's massive distribution network and clinical infrastructure. Today, while NAR operates as a subsidiary within Henry Schein’s medical group, it maintains its headquarters in Greer, South Carolina, where it continues to drive innovation in emergency medicine.
