Lindt & Sprüngli is a world-renowned Swiss chocolatier with roots dating back to 1845. The brand originated in Zurich when David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son, Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann, produced the first solid bar of chocolate in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Later, in 1899, the company acquired Rodolphe Lindt's chocolate factory and his revolutionary 'conching' technique, which created the smooth, melting texture for which Lindt is famous today.
While Lindt has manufacturing facilities in several European countries and the United States to serve global demand, the 'Swiss Premium Chocolate' line is primarily manufactured in Switzerland to maintain its traditional quality standards. The company remains an independent Swiss entity, operating as Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG, and continues to be a premium leader in the global confectionery market through its master chocolatiers.
