Vogel's bread is an iconic New Zealand bakery brand known for its dense, seeded loaves and signature toast. The brand was originally inspired by the nutritional philosophies of Alfred Vogel, a Swiss nutritionist, and was pioneered in New Zealand where it became a breakfast staple.
Today, Vogel's is manufactured and marketed in New Zealand under license by Goodman Fielder. While the brand carries a Swiss heritage in its name and recipe philosophy, the commercial production and brand management for the Australasia region are deeply rooted in New Zealand's local food industry.
Goodman Fielder, the manufacturer, is a major food company in the South Pacific. It is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wilmar International, a global agribusiness giant headquartered in Singapore. This ownership structure means that while the bread remains a local Kiwi favorite produced with local and imported ingredients, its ultimate corporate parent is a Singapore-based multinational corporation.
