Kiwi.com is a leading online travel technology company founded in Brno, Czech Republic, in 2012 by Oliver Dlouhý and Jozef Képesi. Originally launched under the name Skypicker, the company rebranded to Kiwi.com in 2016 after acquiring the domain name. The platform is renowned for its proprietary algorithm called 'virtual interlining,' which combines flights from hundreds of airlines—including low-cost and full-service carriers—into single itineraries even if the airlines do not have formal cooperation agreements.
While the technology and platform were born in the Czech Republic, the brand is currently under the majority ownership of General Atlantic, a prominent American global growth equity firm that acquired a controlling stake in 2019. Despite this international investment, Kiwi.com continues to operate its primary technical and business headquarters in Brno, Czech Republic, maintaining its roots as a European tech innovator while expanding its reach globally.
