Originally founded in Salvatierra (Álava), the brand built its reputation on local varieties such as Idiazabal, a smoked sheep's milk cheese protected by a Designation of Origin.

Following industrial and ownership transitions, the brand became part of the larger Spanish dairy landscape. It is currently owned by the Arandina group, a Spanish dairy conglomerate. The production remains centered in Spain, utilizing traditional methods and local milk sources to maintain the authentic flavor profile associated with the Aldanondo name since its inception.
