Breitling is a prestigious Swiss watchmaker founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier. The company originally specialized in chronographs and precision instruments for science and industry. The Navitimer, featured in the image, was first introduced in 1952 as a specialized tool for pilots, equipped with a circular slide rule to perform flight calculations. For many decades, Breitling remained a family-owned business until it was sold to Sicura in the 1970s.

In recent history, the brand has seen significant transformation. In 2017, Breitling was acquired by the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. By 2022, Partners Group, another Swiss-based investment firm, took a controlling interest in the company. Today, Breitling is known for its high-performance movements (Caliber B01) and its commitment to 'Swiss Made' quality, with manufacturing centered in Grenchen, Switzerland.
