Unox is a classic Dutch food brand that has become a staple in many households across the Netherlands. Founded in 1937, it is best known for its rookworst (smoked sausage), soups, and stews. This particular product is a clear chicken soup, prepared with chicken, carrots, peas, and vermicelli, packaged in a convenient pouch.
While the brand was originally established by Unilever and Lever Brothers in the Netherlands, it has seen a change in oversight. In late 2017, Unilever agreed to sell its spreads business and eventually entered a strategic relationship for the maintenance of its food brands. As of recent years, while Unilever remained the long-term owner, the production and brand management for Unox in the Netherlands are closely tied to Unilever's Nutrition division, which remains headquartered in the Netherlands and the UK. Manufacturing for the Dutch market primarily takes place within the Netherlands to ensure local taste profiles and fresh ingredients.
