Strela is the flagship beer brand of Cape Verde, launched in 2006 by the local brewery CERIS (Sociedade Caboverdiana de Cerveja e Refrigerantes). The brand was created to replace the Coral brand after CERIS was acquired by the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company (ECCBC). The name "Strela" means "star" in Cape Verdean Creole, and the "Kriola" variant is specifically named to celebrate the local Creole culture and identity.

The beer is brewed exclusively at the CERIS production facility located in Praia, on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. In recent years, significant investments have been made to modernize the brewery and expand production capacity, allowing Strela to become the most popular beer in the archipelago and a growing export to markets like Portugal, Gambia, and Guinea. Ownership of the brand rests with ECCBC, a major African bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company, which is headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, and largely owned by the Spanish firm Cobega.
