DeBeukelaer is a historic name in the European biscuit industry, founded by Edouard De Beukelaer in 1850. The brand's heritage began in Belgium, where Edouard pioneered the modern industrial production of biscuits, notably creating the famous Prince biscuit. In the 1970s, the company merged with other European biscuit manufacturers to form General Biscuit, which was later acquired by Groupe Danone.

Today, the DeBeukelaer brand is primarily managed by the Griesson - de Beukelaer company in Germany, a result of a merger between the Swiss-German Griesson firm and the German division of General Biscuit. Production takes place across several state-of-the-art facilities in Europe, predominantly in Germany (such as Polch and Kahla). The brand remains a household name in Europe, specializing in high-quality baked snacks and chocolate-covered biscuits.
