Frontline is a globally recognized brand in pet health, specifically known for its spot-on treatments against fleas, ticks, and lice. The brand was originally developed by Merial, a leading animal health company. Through a series of corporate acquisitions and swaps, the brand became part of the Boehringer Ingelheim portfolio.
Historically, Merial was a joint venture between Merck & Co. and Rhône-Poulenc (which later became Sanofi). In 2017, Boehringer Ingelheim acquired Merial from Sanofi in exchange for its consumer healthcare business. Today, Frontline remains a flagship brand for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. While the product is distributed worldwide, this specific unit was manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France SCS in Toulouse, France, and imported into the Brazilian market.
