The brand was originally introduced by the Bristol-Myers company (via the Drackett division) before being acquired by S.C. Johnson & Son in the early 1990s. Today, Drano is primarily manufactured in the United States, notably at S.C. Johnson's large-scale manufacturing facilities such as Waxdale in Wisconsin. Ownership remains with S.C. Johnson, a privately held family-led company that has maintained the brand's position as a market leader in the home care industry.
