Quick is a historic French-Belgian fast-food chain, founded in 1971 in Schoten, Belgium. It was the first European fast-food brand to compete directly with American chains like McDonald's. Its burger products are prepared using locally sourced ingredients in the regions where it operates, primarily France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Ownership of the brand has shifted significantly over the years. Originally part of the Belgian retail group GIB, it was later acquired by various investment firms. In 2015, the brand was acquired by Groupe Bertrand, which subsequently converted many French outlets to Burger King locations. However, as of 2021, the American investment firm H.I.G. Capital acquired the Quick brand in France, while the operations in Belgium and Luxembourg remain under different management entities, primarily controlled by QSR Belgium.
