MG Automobiles

MG, originally known as Morris Garages, is a classic British automotive marque with a history dating back to 1924 in Oxford, England. It became legendary for its two-seater open sports cars, though the brand transitioned through various ownerships including British Leyland, the Rover Group, and the MG Rover Group.

Following the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, the brand was acquired by Chinese interests. While the design and engineering heritage often still draw from its British roots, modern MG vehicles are predominantly manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities in China, with additional assembly lines in Thailand, India, and previously South Asia to serve global markets. The brand has successfully pivoted into a volume manufacturer focuses on value-driven SUVs and electric vehicles.

Today, MG is a subsidiary of the SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in Shanghai, SAIC has transformed MG into a major international player, combining historic British branding with Chinese manufacturing efficiency and advanced EV technology.
