LU Le Petit Chocolat is a classic French buttery biscuit topped with a layer of milk chocolate. The brand LU (Lefèvre-Utile) was founded in 1846 in Nantes, France, by Jean-Romain Lefèvre and Pauline-Isabelle Utile. It grew to become one of the most iconic biscuit brands in Europe, known for its focus on quality ingredients and artistic packaging design.

While the brand maintains its strong French heritage and primary production facilities in France, its international popularity means it is distributed globally. In 2007, the LU brand was acquired by Group Danone and subsequently sold to Kraft Foods. Following the corporate split of Kraft Foods in 2012, brand ownership passed to Mondelēz International. Today, LU continues to operate as a flagship biscuit brand under the Mondelēz portfolio, headquartered in the United States and managed as part of their global snacks and confectionery business.
