The Sonab OA-14 is a classic omnidirectional loudspeaker, part of the renowned 'Ortho-Acoustic' series designed by the visionary Swedish engineer Stig Carlsson. These speakers were specifically engineered to utilize the reflections of the listening room's walls and ceiling to create a more natural, spatial sound experience, a departure from traditional directional speakers.

Originally developed in Sweden during the 1960s and 70s under the Sonab brand, production was primarily centered in Sweden via the state-owned Sonab AB. The brand was famous for Carlsson's unique patents and high-fidelity audio standards. After the original state-owned company faced financial challenges and eventually dissolved, the rights to many products were shuffled. Today, the legacy of Sonab and Stig Carlsson lives on through enthusiasts and specialist companies, while the 'Sonab' brand name for new consumer electronics is largely discontinued or owned by various entities for different electronic applications.
