KV Jarl (W324) Coast Guard Vessel

The KV Jarl (W324) is a specialized offshore patrol vessel operated by the Norwegian Coast Guard (Kystvakten). Originally designed as a multi-purpose platform, the vessel was built in Romania at the Vard Tulcea shipyard before undergoing further outfitting. It is part of the Norwegian Coast Guard's ongoing effort to modernize its fleet for Arctic operations and fishing territory protection.

The vessel is owned by the Norwegian government through the Norwegian Armed Forces. While the design and construction were handled by Vard, a major global shipbuilder, the ultimate operational control and ownership reside with the Kingdom of Norway. The ship is primarily used for search and rescue, sovereignty enforcement, and environmental protection in the North Sea and Barents Sea regions.
