Neutrogena is a world-renowned skincare and cosmetics brand that originated in the United States. It was founded in 1930 by Emanuel Stolaroff as a small specialty cosmetic company called Natone. The brand became famous in the 1950s for its clear, gentle soap, eventually taking the name Neutrogena Corporation.
In 1994, the brand was acquired by Johnson & Johnson. However, in an iconic corporate restructuring completed in 2023, the consumer health division of Johnson & Johnson was spun off into an independent company called Kenvue. As of 2024 and beyond, Neutrogena is under the ultimate ownership of Kenvue, a global leader in consumer health products.
Neutrogena products are manufactured globally to meet regional market demands. Major manufacturing hubs include facilities in the United States, South Korea, China, and various locations across Europe and Southeast Asia, depending on the specific product line and local distribution requirements.
