BaByliss is a globally recognized brand in the hair care industry, known for its professional-grade styling tools. The brand's origin dates back to the 1960s in Paris, France, where it was founded by hair stylists René Lelièvre and Roger Lemoine. They gained fame for inventing the electric curling iron, which revolutionized hair styling in salons.
Over the decades, BaByliss expanded its reach beyond professional salons to the consumer market. In 1995, the brand was acquired by Conair Corporation, an American multinational company based in Stamford, Connecticut. Today, while the BaByliss Paris name maintains its French heritage and European design roots, the majority of its manufacturing processes take place in China to leverage large-scale production capabilities. The brand remains a subsidiary of Conair LLC, which operates a vast portfolio of personal care and kitchen appliance brands.
