Continente Roasted Cashews

Continente is the flagship private label brand of Sonae MC, the largest retailer in Portugal. This product consists of roasted cashew nuts (Caju Torrados) sold under the supermarket's own-brand line, typically in a 'Pack Poupança' or savings pack format.

While cashew nuts themselves are grown in tropical climates like Vietnam, Ivory Coast, or Brazil, the processing (roasting and packaging) for this specific brand is primarily conducted in Portugal or the EU to supply the Iberian market. The brand is owned by Sonae, a multinational conglomerate based in Maia, Portugal, which has operated the Continente brand since its inception in 1985 as the country's first hypermarket chain.
