Batavo is a historic Brazilian dairy brand known for its long-standing presence in the South American market. Its origins date back to 1928, founded by Dutch immigrants in Carambeí, Paraná, as part of a cooperative movement. The brand's identity is deeply rooted in this Dutch heritage, reflected in its name and logo.
Over the decades, ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major food conglomerates. After being part of Perdigão and later BRF (Brasil Foods), the brand and its dairy operations were acquired by the French multinatonal Lactalis in 2014. Today, Batavo products are manufactured in Brazil, primarily catering to the domestic market with a wide range of yogurts, milks, and cheeses. The brand continues to focus on its heritage of quality while benefiting from the global supply chain and expertise of its French parent company.
