Norman Walsh Footwear is one of the last remaining British-owned sneaker brands that continues to manufacture its products entirely within the United Kingdom. Founded in 1961 by Norman Walsh, the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in the athletic history of Bolton, England. Walsh began his career at Foster Bros Footwear (the precursor to Reebok), where he achieved fame for hand-crafting the track spikes used by marathon runners and athletes in the 1948 Olympics.

Today, the brand is celebrated for its 'Made in England' status, producing a wide range of retro running shoes, casual sneakers, and fell running boots from its factory in Bolton. Unlike many global footwear brands that have outsourced production to Asia, Walsh maintains a traditional manufacturing process, utilizing high-quality materials and artisanal techniques to ensure durability and performance.

Ownership of the brand transitioned from the Walsh family to the Crompton family in the 1990s. This transition allowed the brand to pivot from purely professional athletic gear to a fashion-forward heritage brand, gaining significant popularity in international markets like Japan and Europe while keeping its manufacturing soul firmly in the UK.
