Westone Audio began in 1959 as a pioneer in personalized hearing protection and earphone technology, founded in Colorado, USA. Over decades, it became a leading brand for both audiophiles and professional musicians, specializing in custom-fit in-ear monitors (IEMs).

In 2020, the Westone Audio brand was acquired by Lucid Audio, a US-based firm specializing in hearing health and consumer audio electronics. Since then, the brand has been integrated into the Lucid Audio family, while manufacturing occurs across multiple locations, including domestic facilities in the USA for custom products and specialized production lines in Asia for universal models.
