Lipton is one of the world's most iconic tea brands, originally founded by Sir Thomas Lipton in Scotland during the late 19th century. This specific product is the Hong Kong-style milk tea (Gold Blend), designed to mimic the rich and creamy tea culture found in traditional Hong Kong tea houses. It is a convenience-focused instant powder mix that combines black tea with cream and sugar.

While Lipton was owned by Unilever for many decades, the brand's global tea business—excluding India, Indonesia, and Nepal—was spun off into a dedicated tea company called Ekaterra. In July 2022, Ekaterra was acquired by CVC Capital Partners, a global private equity firm. The company has since rebranded as LIPTON Teas and Infusions. Manufacturing for the East Asian market, including this version, typically takes place in regional production facilities in China and surrounding areas to maintain freshness and local supply chain efficiency.
